Gomantong Caves
3 May 2019We got lucky and saw the red leaf monkey outside the caves. Warning, if you dont like strong smell and roaches, the cave will not be pleasant. The 15-20 mins around the cave gives a quick understanding of how bird's nest is harvested and the conditions the folks has to go through to get it. Maybe you will now understand why it is so expensive and the difference between white and black bird's nest.

Sepilok Orangutan Rehab Center
4 May 2019There are 2 feedings times per day at 10am and 3pm. As the center is an open forest, sometimes they come and sometimes they don't. Apparently, the forest is blooming with fruits now, so less of the orang-utans come for their free hand outs. The center intentionally feeds very monotonous food to encourage them to go out and search of food in the wild.
