Shinkasen to Tokyo
6 Nov 2025Was a short 45 mins ride from Echigo-Yuzawa to Tokyo. Took the earlier train so that we avoid the peak hour on the Yamanote line from Tokyo to Shibuya for the next hotel.
Eel Izakaya
6 Nov 2025This was quite a random izakaya that we ended up in while running errands in Shinjuku.
Turned out quite interesting; they specialise in eel and kushiyaki of every possible part of the eel.

Tokyo University
12 Nov 2025We took a walk to Tokyo University but the ginkgos were hardly yellow. We especially like the giant ginkgo tree on the campus.
Dormy Inn Shibuya
6-9 Nov 2025On the return leg, we stayed in Dormy inn PREMIUM Shibuya-jingumae.
As most of our activities are around Shinjuku and Shibuya. Slightly bigger double room at 15m. Also excellent facilities. However the walk to the Shibuya station was at least 10-15 mins. Near to Cat street, Omotesando and other great cafes around.
