Drive back to Niigata City (1 Night)

Before returning to Niigata, detour to take a look at this onsen town. The town looks pretty upscaled and less traditional.

The onsen water is green in color, has a natural layer of "surface oil" and is known for their "beautifying effect.

First had their beer in a small Tokyo pub probably 10+ years back. Still like their porter the most. Never knews why they were called Swanlake until today.

I initially expected to dine at the "pub restaurant" overlooking the brewery tanks, but we were directed to the Japanese garden restaurant. Nice private room, but somehow the setting and services felt a bit too formal and we were wrapping our heads around beer with a formal Japanese garden feeling.
