Per recommendation, taking the first bite "AS-IS" with no condiments. The sweetness of the lightly salted rice invoke such a delicate balance. Nice, certainly lives up to their reputation. Now I have developed a new baseline for onigiri.
Tried the brown rice coffee but it was a bit too charred tasting for my liking.
After lunch, took a 15 mins leisurely walk to Ishiuchi station for the local train back to Echigo Yuzawa. Along the way, "inspecting" the neighbourhood persimmon trees and vegetable plots.
