Port Barton

20 to 22 May 2016

The road to paradise ...

From Puerto Princesa, it is a 3-4 hours by van to Port Barton. I guess that Port Barton is "not as established" compared to El Nido as a tourist spot as the journey there is "a bit out of the way" ? Proper paved roads are still under constructions and would probably take at least another year to complete. Already a lot of the public van and bus now ply the route with Port Barton as standard stop. I am sure it would become more crowded with time. Let's hope it does not lose it's rustic charm soon.

Lunch at Elsa's Beach Resort, Port Barton

Our ride got us to Port Barton early. So while waiting for our boat transfer, we decided have have lunch. Stuffed squid and pork soup

Paradise cove Island ...

A 45 mins boat ride later, we arrive at Paradise Cove Island Resort on Cagnipa Island.

Our Cottage ...

Paradise found ... the quiet beach we were looking for

The resort had about 10 cottages (+/-)? We were luckily to have arrived when only 2-3 of them were occupied, as such the experinece of a "true" private island feeling :>

Sea Kayaking ...

Soaking up the clear water and remoteness of the place ...

First time paddle boarder ...

Lunch stop at a neighbouring resort (coconut island resort) ...

"Castaways" Bar / Restaurant ...

... well guess it is not surprising to know that there is only 1 dining option on this island :P. Besides the standard filipinos dishes like lomi chicken (chinese lor mee style noodles), we had various seafood dishes. The butter garlic mussuels were yummy.

Time passes quickly in paradise too ...

our 2 nights here whizzed by and we would need to move on to our next destination tomorrow. This place has re-defined our benchmark of perfect beach getaway ...

Bye Bye Paradise Cove

After saying our goodbyes to Larry and the staff on Paradise Cove Resort, we are back on the mainland in Port Barton after a 45 mins boat ride. Decided to have breakfast in Elsa's prior to starting our 4 hour ride to El Nido.

Best Pancake Breakfast at Elsa's ...

Tucking-in the yummy fluffy pancakes before a long car ride to El Nino
