Mount Takao Day-Trip

The train ride there was definitely worthwhile.
The restaurant is set in nature within an extensive garden. The food is just what we like, each dish no matter how simple it looks, always surprises you with its freshness and well integrated taste.
Juicy tempura Maitake, grilled tofu with creamy chestnut sauce, crunchy carp sashimi with miso dip, grilled Ayu full of roe, sweetness in the leek and wasabi, black shichimi, marinated peppercorn and it goes on.

After a big lunch, we made a feeble attempt to work off some calories. Chair-lift up Mt Takao (instead of hiking) and a short walk to the main hall of the temple. Did not have enough time to go all the way to the peak. It is said that on a clear day, you can view Mt Fuji. We will know next time.
