Temples of Kamakura and Enoshima

2 days exploring Kamakura historical temples, zen gardens and the winter peony garden of 鶴岡八幡宮 (Tsurugaoka Hachimangū)

From Tokyo Station -> Yamanote Line -> Kita-Kamakura (60 mnis). Right across the train station, we start our exploration of the first temple ....

Strolling the serene compounds ...

Macha and mochi at the rest stop of the top of the temple with clear skies and a view of Mount Fuji

Stopping for Senbei and sweet potato soft ice cream en-route to temple 2

Lunch at little soba should just outside of 鶴 岡八幡宮 (Tsurugaoka Hachimangū)

The signature shirasu of kamakura area.

Taking the Endosha line from Kamakura to Hase Station

En-routeto Hase-dera, hand-drip coffee in a back of a van which was also selling 2nd hand books.

Arriving at Hase-dera (長谷寺)

Was pretty late by the time we reach the Big Buddha at 4pm. With only 1 hour to spare to closing :>

More stops after the temples and on way back to the train station.
Flattened crispy cuttlefish crackers. Also found a small cake shop in the back lane which had great fresh cream puff

The Endosha Kamakura Station at night

As it was late, we tried our luck at some random restaurant near the Kamakura station. Basically any one which serves Shirasu was my criteria.
Had a good dinner with more Shirasu (Raw, Boiled and Karaage). The motsu (stew) was also very good.

The 1 hour train ride back to tokyo was a good rest.

A LOT more photos ...
