Tongyeong - Grilled sea eel

Happy to chance upon this place. Was looking for a sashimi place, came across this family-owned restaurant, so decided to venture. We now know that Tongyeong is also famous for fresh sea eels.

Made an initial order, but finally deciphered the menu and managed to change our order to the coastal rock eel.

Dramtic rigormortis as the eels are being grilled😬. The smell of grilled eel fats dripping on charcoal, and its chewy texture is just amazing. Dip sesame oil with a dash of salt, wrap with a perilla leaf ... woo hoo.
